Lucy Thomas: The Melodic Meteor

Who is Lucy Thomas, you ask? Let me tell you what I know...

To be perfectly honest, I am just finding this amazing new talent! If you follow me on YouTube, you may have seen her name pop up along with requests for me to react to some of her music. I get that a lot, some of it I adore, some, not so much. I do get a rush on that rare occasion that I am left completely enamored.

This is one of those times! Lucy Thomas is someone to watch! Let's delve in, shall we?

    Lucy Thomas: The Melodic Meteor

In the vast constellation of pop music, a new star has emerged, and her name is Lucy Thomas. At just 19 years old, this British songbird is already making waves with her captivating voice and sensational performances. But how did she go from singing in the shower to trending on social media? Let’s rewind the cosmic tape and explore Lucy’s meteoric rise.

The Voice Kids Launchpad

Picture this: a 14-year-old Lucy stepping onto the glittering stage of The Voice Kids in 2018. Her voice, like a comet streaking across the night sky, left both judges and viewers spellbound. She soared through the competition, finishing as a semi-finalist. But it wasn’t just her vocal prowess that caught everyone’s attention; it was her raw talent, unfiltered and unapologetic.

From Premiere to Destiny

After her celestial debut on The Voice Kids, Lucy signed with Cavendish Records—a label named after the eminent scientist Henry Cavendish (because nothing says “classical crossover” like a dash of quantum physics). Her debut album, Premiere, dropped in 2019. Imagine Lucy belting out famous musical numbers like a comet tail trailing stardust. It was pure magic.

But Lucy didn’t stop there. In 2020, her second album, Encore, graced our playlists. Then came Timeless in 2021—a cosmic symphony that transcended time zones. And just when we thought she’d reached her zenith, Lucy’s fourth album, Destiny, descended upon us like a meteor shower of melodic brilliance.

Social Media Constellations

Lucy isn’t just a celestial songstress; she’s also an internet sensation. Her Instagram account (@lucythomasmusic) boasts 45k followers, who hang on every note she shares. And her YouTube channel? Brace yourselves—789k subscribers! (at the time of this story) Her rendition of “Hallelujah” became the first song to reach 10 million views on YouTube. Clearly, Lucy knows how to make the digital cosmos groove.

So, there you have it—the tale of Lucy Thomas: from Lancashire to stardom, from semi-finals to symphonies. Keep your telescopes trained on this rising star; she’s destined for greatness among the celestial charts.

Be sure to head on over to her YouTube channel and watch this Shining star!

And as Lucy herself would sing, ðŸŽµ “Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are…” ðŸŽµ

  2. “The Way We Were” (Cover): Lucy also graced us with her version of Barbra Streisand’s classic “The Way We Were.” It’s like a musical time capsule that transports you back to the golden era of cinema and romance2.

  3. “Broken Dreams” (Original): Lucy’s award-winning song from the forthcoming musical Rosie is a testament to her songwriting prowess. It won the Open Category of The UK Songwriting Contest 2022 and the LIT Songwriting Platinum Award. Keep an eye out for Rosie—it promises to be a celestial experience3.

  4. “Premiere,” “Encore,” “Timeless,” and “Destiny” (Albums): Lucy Thomas has released four albums, each a constellation of her musical journey. From her debut album Premiere to her latest offering Destiny, Lucy’s melodic meteor continues to shine bright4.

  5. “Evergreen” (Cover): Lucy Thomas, like a comet trailing stardust, graced us with her version of Barbra Streisand’s timeless ballad. The song, soft as an easy chair and fresh as morning air, resonates with love shared by two souls. Lucy’s voice blooms like a rose under April snow, capturing the essence of ageless and evergreen romance. The lyrics, penned by Paul Williams, intertwine seamlessly with Barbra Streisand’s music. No wonder “Evergreen” won the Oscar, Golden Globe for Best Original Song, and a Grammy for Song of the YearYou can find Lucy’s enchanting rendition on her album aptly titled Evergreen

The FABULOUS Courtney Hadwin- AGT's Golden Buzzer Prodigy!

WOW- What can possibly be said, that hasn't been said about this young Super-Talent before? If you Haven't heard of her by now, you are missing out on something that's Super-special and Unique! I first caught wind of Courtney a few weeks ago by a fan, who left a comment on my YouTube channel. I kind of put it on the back burner as I already had a list that I was working from and felt it could wait... Had I only known what I was in for, I would have reacted to her a lot sooner. Courtney Hadwin, who, for some unknown reason didn't win the 2018 AGT show, as a matter of fact, she wasn't even in the top 5. (Looking back, was probably a blessing for her, not getting caught up in the Show's contractual obligations). Simon Cowell did in fact end up signing her and although Covid prevented her from recording her album, she has kept her fans busy with lots of at home, studio cover recordings, as well as a few of her own originals. Her first album should be dropping this year, and it is much anticipated! (I'll be one of the first to order a copy). Courtney has been singing from a very early age and although she comes across as a very shy, introverted young lady...Once she hits the stage, the nerves disappear and a wild thing is released! Growing up with access to youtube, she listened to the likes of James Brown and rock legends from the 50's & 60's. She has the voice of a young Janis Joplin, with Mick Jaggar moves and a smile that will melt your heart! She struts across the stage, owning it, as she belts out songs like "Hard to Handle", Papa's GOt a brand new Bag, Nutbush City Limits and that's just one element of her varied and flexible repartie. At almost 17- We have lots to look forward to from this AMAZING young lady, and I can't wait to delve into her library to see what comes next! Take a listen to her first performance on AGT, at 13 years of age- You won't be disappointed, You will be Shocked, pleasantly surprised and as her fans would say, Courtnerized! Welcome to her world...

Why Did I Become a YouTube reactor?

By: Jennifer Clark Wednesday, April 27th 2021
I never intended to become a reactor on YouTube. I had been an avid fan of reaction videos for over a year, when I had the idea to react to a cover of Queen's "Bohemeian Rhapsody", after watching every possible reaction to other's who had never seen or heard of this iconic song from the legendary band that created it. I would scroll through, looking for a new BR reaction to the OG version and the well was beginning to run dry! So, instead of watching someone cover this one of a kind song, I thought, why not? I sifted throough all the covers, Mark Martel, Pentatonix, and so many more, and this one name, just kept popping up. Angelina Jordan... Already having my mind made up that no one could ever top the Queen's version, (I couldn't even comprehend, WHY, someone would try to "copy" the most Iconic song in the world) that it would probably be very disappointing to whomever watched my reaction, because it would NEVER be as good. So, I watched a few Youtube tutorials on how to create a reaction video, downloaded the necessary software, watched more tutorials and before you know it, I was ready to shoot. I searached for the video of Angelina Jordan's AGT performance of BR, and set my webcam to record...What happened next was nothing short of a miracle! I was so nervous and had no plans for what I was going to say. I just started talking...I introduced myself, talked a little about how I got to this point and once I clicked on the play icon on the video, the rest was history! Not only was I in utter shock from what I was witnessing, what I was hearing...nothing computed! I couldn't wrap my head around what was coming out of this young lady's mouth! No- It wasn't Queen. Far from it...What it was, was something that I couldn't find the words for- and it showed! At least to me, upon playback. Somehow I was able to string enough sentences together to form a semi-good video. However, I couldn't take all the credit. This Amazing young girl somehow created something so wonderful, so appealing that it worked! She had this voice that just consumed me. It was her take on this untouchable song that created the beginnings of what would be my newest gulity pleasure...Reacting! Since that day (about 6 weeks ago, at this writing) I have reacted to over 30 songs. I have loved and been shocked and awed with each and every one of them! But that's not the best part. Within minutes the comment section started filling up with raves and "thank you's" along with suggestions for more songs to react to. It was the most incredible thing I never imagined! The fans, You! You made this the dream I didn't know I had finally realized! The fandom of Angelina Jordan, Dimash, The Warning, Susanne Sundfor, Rush, Bee Gees, and so many more have made me a successful YouTube reactor, meeting the YouTube Partner program's requirements for monetization of 1,000 Subscribers & 4,000 watch hours possible in a matter of weeks, and it tripled within 24 hours after that! (I expected it to take me 1 year- that was my goal) That was YOU! The fans are what keep reactors doing what they do! Without you, why bother? Reacting, is the conduit for interaction between the reactor and the fans, THAT is the key element, the main reason. I thought it would be one thing, and it turned out to be something so much greater, richer and far more fulfilling that I could have ever thought possible! So, Thank you. Not for making me special, or to boost my ego, or even to make money (Not that that's a bad thing) but for offering me your most precious commodity...your time. I appreciate your faith in me, and I will do my best to continue to bring you the music you want to hear, and an honest, humble and flawed opinion. You are WHY, I BECAME A YOUTUBE REACTOR!
With a grateful heart, Jennifer Clark

In addition to school she received vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program.
